STEP ONE: 

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT ANN AKIN IS AN "OUT OF NETWORK AGENT". WHAT THIS MEANS IS THAT SHE DOES NOT ACCEPT INSURANCE PAYMENTS, HOWEVER YOUR INSURANCE MIGHT REIMBURSE YOU FOR THE COSTS, DEPENDING ON YOUR COVERAGE.

 

STEP TWO:

FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH YOUR INSURANCE PROVIDER.

RESEARCH WHO YOUR PROVIDER IS AND WHAT ALL YOUR PLAN COVERS. APPOINTMENTS WITH ANN AKIN ARE DOCUMENTED UNDER 'MENTAL HEALTH' COVERAGE.

 

STEP THREE:

CONTACT YOUR INSURANCE PROVIDER AND ASK THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS. THIS WILL HELP CLARIFY IF YOUR INSURANCE WILL COVER YOUR VISITS WITH ANN AKIN.

  • Does my insurance cover Mental Health benefits?
  • Will I need a Primary Care Physician referral?
  • How much will my plan cover for an out-of-area network provider?
  • What is my deductable?
  • Is there a limit on number of sessions my insurance will cover?
 

STEP FOUR:

FINALLY ONCE YOU HAVE RESEARCHED YOUR PROVIDER AND ARE AWARE OF THE COVERAGE, REQUEST A REIMBURSEMENT FORM AT YOUR APPOINTMENT.

THIS FORM WILL ALLOW YOU TO SHOW PROOF TO YOUR PROVIDER THAT YOU ATTENDED A SESSION WITH AN "OUT OF NETWORK" AGENT. THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL USE FOR YOUR INSURANCE PROVIDER TO REIMBURSE YOUR APPOINTMENT COST.
